About the Author: Linda J. Stevenson
Linda was born in the naval port of Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of a US Navy Master Chief. With the exception of 1 year living in Boston, Mass., and two years in Hanau, Germany, she has lived in the historic state of Virginia all of her life. She now resides in the beautiful Roanoke Valley. Linda graduated Summa Cum Laude from college in 1989 with a degree in Child Development, serving as Grand Marshall for her graduation.
Though raised in a Christian home, Linda was in her early 20’s before making a commitment of her life to Christ. Since then she has spent many years in full-time ministry including serving as secretary for her church in Norfolk,Va., and child care director for her church in Salem, Va. She is now employed as an accountant with a Christian child care center in Roanoke.
One of her favorite Bible verses is “Give thanks in all circumstances for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus (I Thes. 5:18).”
Linda states, “God is faithful and true to see us through all the trials of life. To know and experience His love is the greatest joy of my life. It is my honor to be God’s poet and to be used by God in a ministry of hope to the hurting. My desire is to be a light to encourage and point others to the One who can calm the restless sea and lead them through the floods of life. As God’s Word is ‘a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path,’ may my words illumine the pathway of my brother and point others to the Light of the World.”
