About the Author: Geneva A. Poynter

Geneva (Adams) Poynter was born in Martin, Tennessee. She's fourth in a family of six children, where she was the only girl among five boys. She lived there until moving to Chicago immediately after high school graduation.

During her stay in Chicago, Geneva worked in and attended a growing Baptist church; where she was a choir member for 45 years. Her hunger and desire for God was nurtured by attending evening classes at The Moody Bible Institute. She also spent 2 rewarding years associating with several missionaries while working for The Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Headquarters. Experiences there equipped her with the spiritual skills needed to serve as Chairperson on her church's missions committee; where commitment to world missions was greatly emphasized. She participated on that very active committee for seven years, chairing it for five of those years.

She currently resides about 50 miles northwest of Chicago in Hoffman Estates, Illinois; with Bill, her husband of 47 years. They live near their son, daughter-in-law and three lovely granddaughters; who enjoy attending weekly church services together.

Geneva was eleven years old when she gave her heart and life to Christ. Today, relationship with Him is the most important aspect of her whole life. She loves studying His Word; and seeks to practice it in her role of wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, intercessor, and friend.

Her peaceful quiet time pleasures are singing, reading, and writing God inspired poetry.
The highest desire and utmost request of Geneva's heart is, "God, gain glory from my entire life!"
