I was saved when I was 9 years old and I started writing poetry soon afterwards. I found that this was a way I could express myself about what I felt. Early on I wrote about nature and the things that I saw around me, those were the things that stirred my heart. Later as I continued to write, I began to focus on salvation, on the Lord, on the blessings and trials of life. Still later, as I began to read and study the scriptures, I found a wonderful way to meditate on a portion was to write a poem on that that portion of the Word.
After I graduated from high school I spent 3 years in the Army and then 12 years in the Army National Guard and then 25 years in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). All of those experiences have been filled with wonderful lessons from the Lord, the highs and lows that every child of God experiences. I am now retired and am pasturing a small non-denominational church in Springfield, Missouri. I spend my time preparing lessons and writing articles and find this another wonderful way of expressing myself and ministering to others.
